Sacred Heart Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Mawlai Shillong is a Catholic Educational Institution. It was established in 1938, March 14th by Sr. Clotilde M. Coglialo, runs by the Salesian Sisters of Shillong Province, which has its Head Quarter at Auxilium, Nongthymmai Shillong. It is owned and managed by them and is registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and bears the registration number SR/SSNI-30/73 of 1972. It was permanently recognized on 25.05.1974
The constant effort of the management and the well trained staff is to ensure the integral development of the pupils and bring out those qualities which are best and noblest in them. Special attention is given to ensure high standard of morality and discipline in the school.
The primary aim of this educational institution is to foster and promote the integral development of the students, enabling them to become intellectually competent, morally sound, spiritually strong, physically fit and socially alert, capable of critical judgment and ready to face the challenges of life. Its endeavour is to form the students into good and honest citizens capable of reaching out to the less fortunate brothers and sisters and contributing to the building up of a society based on peace and justice.
The course of instruction comprises all the branches of education prescribed by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), and prepares the students for the SSLC and HSSLC (Arts and Commerce) examination conducted by the board.
